A Little Thursday morning chat.

Right now, I'm sitting on the sofa with Hannah Grace. She's found a little page of shinny bug stickers. She took a few and put them on my pajama legs. Then she took two and placed them on my nose. Every few minutes she looks at me and says, "oh, no!" pulls the stickers off my nose and reapplies them to a different part of my nose. Now she's put them onto her nose....nothing like a little summer vacation fun!

I need to have Greg reteach me how to download pictures again and then I can/will update this blog more. Right now, I'm hoping to win this little number

I think it would be perfect for us Johnson girls in our new town!

Well, I promised Lily we'd go to the pool today and then I have to continue getting ready for the shower and my guests this weekend. I'm still planning on the Tessa's Coconut Cupcakes, Shrimp and Orzo salad but have now decided to do a cucumber cream cheese little open faced sandwhich on dark rye....I have to go to the store at some point today and tomorrow's the big cooking day!

Hannah Grace has now climbed onto the back of the sofa to look out the window at the tree chipping guys. They've finally arrived to chip all the branches that feel during a storm we had about three weeks ago..by the way, I finished all the puff balls and even hung them up...I'll get a picture really soon!

Second Installment

Now, we'll try for the rest of the post, somehow I haven't been able to post any pictures because I tried to post one from Calico Corners...I'll try again now!


Here is the kitchen, the fridge is the only thing that is new, not a lot of counter space but it would work. We'd have to find a small table and chairs--eat in kitchen--no dinning room. There is a full basement with washer and dryer so we'd be able to store our dinning set and everything else down there. The women in the picture is one of the realtors of the home--not the one we are working with. And, for the last picture of this house--the living room!
The women in this picture is the realtor we are working with...Greg went and saw this house and one other one with her today. The girls and I are meeting her tomorrow to see this house and two houses in Hinsdale in the afternoon. In the living room we'd obviously have the sofa and flowered chair. Then we'd use some form of a corner cabinet for the TV. You can't see it, but the front door is just to the right of the picture. I hope all of these pictures and posts make sense. Greg took all of the pictures today, but didn't get any of the closets...I'll get to see those tomorrow.

We ended up deciding to stay in Hinsdale/Clarendon Hills for a couple of reasons. One, we know the area and have friends here besides being close to my work. But, the bigger reason is because it keeps us close to Roger, who helps with pick up from preschool and hopefully might be able to help with some transportation for Lily between kindergarten and day care. We also then don't have to find a new day care center, we'd certainly stay at Peter Pan. Although we might also be able to find someone to watch the girls during the day when I go back to school and Greg is working. Also, since we only plan/hope on renting for 6 months to a year, I feel better about having Lily start school in 181. I know the system and the schools and then when we're ready to buy, I'd feel fine with transferring her to a new school system.

Now, I'll put all of the pictures of the other house in no particular order and probably without much talking! I'm not feeling a whole lot of love for this house, Greg said it smelled a little like kitty litter and does not have central air...we'll see what happens tomorrow. There is a third house I'll see tomorrow as well, a small ranch in Hinsdale. Our realtor says that some houses we can negotiate a lower price, especially if the house has been sitting without being rented for the last two months. Not sure if that will really happen, but we'll see.
Ok, these two posts got really long, but since you Mom and you Lauren are the only two who read this blog, I figured I could say however much I wanted and not worry about losing either of your interest! The first installment

So, I tried to email these pictures to you guys, to give you a sense of what we are looking at but it took forever to load the pictures and then I just had to turn the computer off before anything happened...so, I decided I'd put them on the blog and let ya'll know about my secret blog site (well Lauren knows about the secret already!)

So...here we go!
The first house is in Clarendon Hills, actually about a five minute walk to Rogers and a six minutes walk to Walker Elementary School for Ya-Ya! It is a four bedroom, one bath (yikes) with a kitchen and living room. The back yard is huge and there is a nice deck of the back. The house is hold, but seems kept up...and Greg would have plenty of landscaping opportunities in the back yard

The is on the ground floor in the front of the house, we would probably use this as a play/sitting room---with the girls kitchen and then Grandma's chairs. I think it will be Greg's favorite room!

Here to the right is the room we would use as our bedroom, not much to say about it--but it looks nice! This room is also on the ground floor in the back of the house.







So, this would be Hannah Grace and Lily's room..don't you see Lily's bed along one wall, the crib on the other and the pink puff balls hanging from the ceiling!? We'll have to figure that out...they may have to go into the blue walled play/sitting room on the ground floor. There is another room exactly the same on the opposite side of the house. We thought we would use that has an office/project room, with Greg's desk and a big table for my sewing machine....





The one and only bathroom on the ground floor...while a tough thought, thinking about cleaning only one bath a week sounds wonderful! I'm also thinking of making a shower curtain with something like this....well, I can't get it and think I may have screwed something up with this so we'll have to wait for the shower curtain idea.

So, I've decided to add some more pictures, I'm just not sure how this all works...but the pictures are too cute not to put on! Well, I really need to fold some laundry and get to bed. I haven't decided yet when I'll let ya'll know this is out there for fewing! Maybe, after a few more days of trial and error...

Well, I've done it, I've started a blog...I don't know what will come of it but I'm doing this for two reasons. One, because my hope/plan is to put pictures and stories of the girls here to share with MorMor, Papa Ocean, the Heuber Jrs. and maybe any other family members who want to see what's going on with these little girls. And, who doesn't want to know and see these little girls who make me laugh, test my abilities, and at times almost stop my heart with the sheer wonder of who God created them to be? I know their grandparents do!

The other reason is because I want to be more intentional about keeping track of my two girls and some of the little things that happen to them day to day! All of this is of course is inspired by my sister-in-law.

So, here it is...I have to have Greg teach me how to upload pictures onto my laptop so that I'll be better able to post pictures and share our lives with the people I love who somehow have managed to fly south! Now, I won't claim to be a writer like my brother or his bride, but I'll try my best and see where this goes!
